It's Officially Fall in Indiana
It's officially fall in Indiana. My mom, dad and I took the boys to AppleWorks to pick their pumpkins last Friday. Appleworks is a wonderful orchard just "down the road" from our home. Once you've had delicious apples from an orchard, you just can't go back to store bought again. Our very favorites are Honey Crisp. They are so sweet and wonderful, they actually cost more than the rest - but they are worth it.
Anyway, this orchard is great in the fall. They have a small petting zoo complete with handwashing stations as you exit. You-Pick pumpkins from the patch. A beautiufl pond where you can feed the fish. And of course plenty of goodies to buy.
October in Brown County also means crazy weather. Last week it was in the low 60s, over the weekend it was in the upper 70s, and they're predicting snow flurries tomorrow night. God made a mistake making me a midwestern girl. I joke with my husband that I'll be on a flight to Florida the day after his funeral.
Oh well, might as well get used to it. I hope that I have many, many years before that flight. At least this winter I'll have plenty of fun things to do in planning my scrapbooking classes. I've been thinking a lot about a Christmas lunchbox class. I just saw the new Basic Grey Fruitcake papers today. I think I can work with that. I keep trying to get over to the store to get more familiar with her stock, but my youngest sone and I have been battling some kind of intestinal bug for the past few days. Such is life....
Guess that's all my ramblings for today,
Jacqui
P.S. I recently learned that one of my favorite scrapbooking magazines is shutting down. So farewell to Scrapbook Answers and thanks for a year of great service.
