Hooray for me!
Okay, I've wanted to teach scrapbooking classes for some time because I love this hobby so much. If you read my blog, you know that I recently entered to become a design team member at my LSS and was rejected. Well, I forgot that there's actually another, closer LSS. So the other day I stopped in. They have moved and gotten bigger. I got up my nerve and asked the owner if they might be looking for scrapbook teachers and she said yes.
So, today I met with her to look at some of my layouts and discuss our options, and I'm going to be teaching Scrapbook Basics on October 23rd. I am so excited. I also suggested that for this class that instead of doing a generic layout, we'll actually give each student a $5 voucher to use in the store that day so they can pick out papers and embellishments that actually go with the pictures they brought.
I hope it goes well. She has already asked me to teach a lunchbox session in November so people could make those as a gift. I would like to do that, but we'll have to look at costs and time. I think that will have to be a Saturday afternoon workshop because it takes several hours to put one together.
I have a lot of ideas, but if any of you SBA gals have suggestions about classes you've taken and enjoyed - let me know.
Thanks for sharing my excitment,
Jacqui
